VERY RARE 1949 19' Higgins Dual Cockpit Sports Speedster!
Recently restored wooden boat. What makes a Higgins unusual are features like the steering wheel is on the left side, the shifting is on the column and they have a gas pedal. It looks like a Chris Craft or Century wooden boat. It is constructed of Mahogany plywood rather than plank mahogany. The flooring is the original inlaid linoleum, with some tears one the edges.
Model H 19 U2 is the serial number on the brass plaque.
The engine is a 1952 Chris Craft MBL, 140 HP.
I have had some bottom work done since I repainted it. I installed two small bilge pumps, one in front, one in back just to make sure it doesn't get too much water in around the prop shaft fitting. I also put a separate 12 volt battery in to run these, rather than hooking up to the 6 volt system.
The boat comes with a bunk type trailer.
