Wellcraft Scarab Concept 240

I have a 1988 Scarab concept. I bought this boat 2 years ago after selling my larger boat. It ran o.k just not to its ability. The previous owner told me, he had redone the outdrive thinking that was the problem. I used it once that year and pulled the 454 in the fall since I was not going to have the chance to use it again. I had Austin Jordan rebuild the motor over last winter. I had a marine mechanic install the motor while replacing the water pump, rebuild the starter and alternator with all new mounting hardware. I installed a new edelbrock air gap intake manifold and rebuilt the 650 double pumper Holley. I took it to silver lake this year and it struggled over half throttle. I went into town and bought a brand new 750 vac secondary Holley and installed it. Ran great for a minute. I believe the wires need to be replaced, I seen one spark on the valve cover when I started it. I have not set the timing with a gun, just by ear. It needs a new shift cable bellows and there is a small crack on the impellar housing that drips. The vinyl is in good shape with only a couple cracks on the rear seat. This boat was ahead of it's time design wise and is a great looking and size boat. Has a stepped hull. I just use it once a year and have a one year old daughter.... my boating days will start back up in 4-5 years. You will not see another one of these boats around here... at least I haven't yet.
The trailer is a galvanized tandem axle trailer. Not the prettiest but does the job and could be brought back to life fairly easy.
