Description
1989 Wellcraft Scarab III High Performance. This is a 1989 Wellcraft Scarab III 340 with recently rebuilt twin Mercury Racing Supercharged 454 CID powerplants with a combined horsepower of 1300 HP. Less than 80 hours on engine drives and transmission.
The twin 454 blocks have been bored to 468 CID Using only Roller parts for the rebuild. There are absolutely no automotive parts in the rebuild.
The outdrives are Mercury Racing Bravo One XR drives with AR lower units at 1:36 ration, IMCO nose cones, Mirage 3 blade 25p 15 spline solid hub stainless tell props.
Built with Holley 1050 carbs, using 110 Viton Needles which have just been serviced and had all accelerator pumps, jets, floats, needles, and seats replaced. All of this sitting on Mercruiser intake manifolds scraped and painted silver. Exhaust is through CME Marine Headers with shotgun tips.
Fresh-water cooled with oil coolers and exchangers. Fuel and oil both671 Weiland Mercruiser Blowers, freshly service using synthetic Lucas Marine Gear Oil. These engines are running 5 lbs boost at 9:1 compression WOT 5100 RPM @ 72-75 MPH. They can run 7 lb pulley at 14:1 compression and rev the engine to 6100 RPM at 80 MPH.
A total of $42,000 was spent on the engines and transmission. An additional $10,000 was spent on the outdrives and K Planes.
The windshield has been recently replaced sith Moked Lexan Custom Fit. The cockpit interior is 4 years old and was completed with high-density marine foam and marine grade vinyl with anti-mold liners. The cuddy cabin has all ultra suede cushions and bench seats.
The color theme is Candy Orange and Metalic Siver, all white vinyl and in the cockpit is Pearl White. Currently propped with a 3 blade 25P prop running WOT at 5100 RPM @ 72-75 MPHand can safely rev to 5300 RPM and will push her to 76 MPH if when trimmed properly on the right water.All white-faced Faria Guages. The boost gauges are Autometer Phantom. All of them have red backlit lighting, white LED in-direct lighting below the helm. And additional multi-color LEd lighting. All comes on with the ignition switch. All lighting on the boat and trailer has been upgraded to LED. Including LED multi-color lighting in the engine compartment. The bow has red LED on the Port side of the bow and green on the starboard side of the bow for several feet. The navigation lights are LED pole lights, front and back, that put out enough light to light the cockpit, aft sun pad, and the swim deck. The head has been revamped. The old macerator toilet has been removed and a 5 gallon Dometic Porta-potti has been put in place. Black tank has been steam cleaned. All of the original plumbing is in good conditions. It also has a new fresh water pump which will draw lake water and pump it to the sink in the cuddy cabin on demand. Vinyl tile flooring in the head. All sinks drain through hull.There is a 110-volt Igloo stainless steel refrigerator that runs off of an inverter.Both hatches were replaced in 2015 at a cost of nearly $2000. Included is a full cockpit cover made from suntainum. It is very light and very durable.The trailer is a triple axle Trail Rite galvanized steel trailer that is painted with Endura Epoxy paint. The bunks were new in 2015. It has brand new electric brakes with battery. The ball is a 2 5 - 16ths hitch with a 5 - 8" safety chain-set. The plug is a 70way RV style plug.
