Description
1976 Skiff Craft 24 Model VS Lapstrake Hard Top Cabin Cruiser and Tandem Trailer.
Built by Skiff Craft (aka Henry Boats) of Plain City, Ohio, home to skilled Amish and Mennonite skilled craftsmen. The Skiff Craft company is still in existence today, still building high quality Skiff Craft
boats but for a whole lot more than the price of this used one. Skiff Craft also continues to offer factory parts and service on vintage models like this one.
This boat was designed for the open waters of the Great Lakes. Its high gunwale design and enclosed helm station and dinette under a hard top provide plenty of protection from the weather for captain and guests. This is a very comfortable boat for a day or over-night
cruise.
The large main deck has plenty of room for guests. The dinette seats 4, a long lounge at the stern facing forward provides another 5 seats for adults, and theres room for a few deck chairs as well. The cabin interior mahogany and upholstery are in good clean condition.
The boat has a large cuddy cabin with an under-the-cushion head currently equipped with a clean-as-new porta-potty that can be removed from the boat for cleaning. Plumbing is also in place for a pump-out
on the starboard forward deck. A complete canvas camping enclosure can accommodate a family of 4 or 5
for an overnight cruise. There is a nice large berth in the cuddy cabin that sleeps 2 adults, 2 of the seats in the main deck can be converted to lounges which could also double as beds, and the lounge across the stern of the boat could also be used as a bed. The camping
enclosure canvas is worn and will require replacement or repair. Mechanical and electrical systems are in good working condition. The MerCruiser 470 Series 4 cylinder 165 HP inboard - outboard engine starts right up and runs smooth. Recent service includes:
- New Starter
- New Fuel Pump
- 2 New Deep Cycle Marine Batteries
- New Water Pump Impeller
- New Fuel Filter
- Fresh Oil Change
- Fresh Lower Unit Lube Change
- New Spark Plugs.
Some of exterior topside vinyl needs to be replaced. Hull generally appears to be sound but will require some attention.
Although there is a lot of space on board, the 8 beam enables relatively easy trailering. The Tandem trailer is in good condition with decent tires, functional electric winch, crank jack, and current Minnesota license. Boat and trailer title certifications are in hand. Miscellaneous accessories include boat ladders, dock fenders, shore power cords, communications gear, extinguisher, refrigerator (untested), etc.
The boat is currently on trailer at owners residence 10 minutes west of Minneapolis, MN.
