Starting forward you have the Master cabin. This cabin features a center island queen berth (76"L x 57"W). There are four large drawers under the berth, a cedar lined locker to starboard and a locker with shelf to port. There is a Flat Screen TV. Over the bed are 2 reading lights and 2 fans.
The head is aft of the master cabin. The head is accessed from the bottom of the stairs from the pilot house or the private door from the master cabin. The head is a Vacuflush fresh water 12 volt toilet. The vanity has great storage, mirrors and a Graincoat molded counter-top with integral sink. The separate shower stall is molded fiberglass with a glass door.
Up three steps and you are in the Pilothouse. The pilothouse has entry doors and seating to port and starboard. The seats are upholstered in cream colored ultra leather. Three large windows provide excellent visibility. The windshield is fitted with intermittent wipers with self park and washing system. Cantalupi xelogen lights provide your overhead lighting. Red lights over chart table for night navigation.
Down three steps and you have the Salon and Galley. The salon is to port with an L-shaped settee that converts to a double berth. There is excellent storage under the and in a locker at the foot of the settee. The settee is upholstered in cream colored ultra leather. The teak salon table is Hi-lo. Cantalupi xelogen lights provide your overhead lighting. All the windows have pleated day-night shades. Fountains 38 Express Cruiser combines speed and luxury into this attractive boat. The cockpit on the 38 has great room for entertaining with plenty of seating for family and guests. Theres also a wet bar with a sink and ice maker, large sun pad, and good stowage. Down below the 38 has a spacious cabin with a leather settee and dining table, galley complete with refrigerator, stove, sink, and microwave. There are two private staterooms and a spacious head with stand up shower.
If you are torn between a go fast and something a little more genteel, this will fit the bill. The helm is race inspired. Gaffrig gauges, Zero effort controls, electric drop down bolster seats. You may think you are on a Fountain, well I guess you are. Beefy trim tabs and Bravo III drives will keep the big 496HOs as under control as you like. A Garmin 300C plotter and VHF are flush mounted on the dash.
A Kenwood system provides the tunes.
The galley is complete with stove, microwave, sink and fridge. Granite counters and cherry cabinets are a nod to the cruiser in this Fountain. The cabin features a long leather settee with dining table. Large hatches provide light. The cabin is climate controlled for comfort. A Westerbeke gennie with only 18 hours will keep you in power while on the hook or steaming along.
The master stateroom is forward, with a door for privacy. The head has a stand up shower and vacuflush head. A roomy mid cabin is tucked under the cockpit sole. This stateroom is also private with a hard door.
The famous race proven hull technology that has given Fountain numerous speed and offshore world records is bred into this cruiser. The notched transom and pad keel are improved by the positive lift notches that get this 15,000 pound boat off and running at a surprising top end speed of over 60 MPH.
At the stern we find a large swim platform and a deep transom storage hatch for fenders and lines. To port is a transom door that will lead you to the large u-shaped settee that converts to a dinning table with room for all your guests during those special sunset meals. Directly to port, is a wet bar with plenty of counter space, a sink and ice maker. As we move forward we notice the inviting chase lounge to port and the famous Fountain helm to starboard. A molded fiberglass radar arch accents the cockpit and provides all the room you need for antennas and securing the convertible top.
Fountain has made access to the bow very easy with steps neatly incorporated into the engine air intakes both port and starboard. The non-skid side decks lead you to the anchor locker and windlass controls. The custom, polished stainless steel anchor is flush mounted and conforms to the beak of the bow. Every corner of this boat is sleek and refined.
This Express Cruiser has a lot to offer with her comfort, amenities and performance. She will undoubtedly give you everything you are looking for in a boat.
