| Description: |
| This pilot house, 38 foot boat was designed and built by the Frazier Nelson Shipyard in 1938 to service freighters. It was purchased and renamed the JOHN D in 1981 for use as a fishing boat on Lake Superior. In 1984 the John D was completely renovated at a cost of over $80,000; completely sand blasted, a double primer coat applied and then painted grey, repowered with a new 175 HP Izuzu inboard diesel engine, which currently has around 1600 hours of use, moved the pilot house, plus other upgrades. The John D is 38 feet long, 38 foot waterline, 10 foot beam, and 4 foot draft. She cruises at 9-10 knots at 3800 rpm, with a max speed of 12-13 knots at 4700 rpm. She uses about 1 gallon per hour at cruising speed and carries 200 gallons of fuel. She is very clean and has a V berth and head, but no cooking facilities. So she is ready to customize your way. Displacement is 14 tons.
The following gear is included:
Batteries (2)
Battery switch
Battery charger
Dockside electrical cable
