This boat really moves. The boat is a 1986 Starliner Checkmate 21 foot 8 inches in like new condition. Checkmate are hand made by the family owned company with racing in mind, so no boat is exactly the same and has a very good reputation in the racing community. (This boat is now classified as a classic by Hagerty.) They did not make very many of these that year so that helps hold it's value. Color is blue metallic. It has an open bow with side benches with storage and back bench with storage. Seats 8 and the seats are like new. Also has a new Kenwood stereo system. Boat includes hydraulics, up down and tilts, depth finder, bilge.
The 200 HP Mercury engine, is I think, a 1998. But it was bought brand new in the crate at seasons end in 2002 or later. Boat racer Randy Pearson was hired to bore the motor to 235 hp, install boyse reeds, new bearings, and a tuned exhaust installed all before the engine was in the water. This engine is like new with only has 40 to 45 hours on it. (So this is a great deal) It has a 4 blade stainless steel prop,
The boat, and motor have been stored indoors and winterized each year and on a boat lift during the season we used it. There is a snap cover for the hull, and canvas cover for the whole boat. The reason for selling is the boat is too big for the lake. The boat was part of the package when we bought the cabin and we prefer a pontoon.
