| Completed in April 2013, this little 1952 Chris-Craft classic kit runabout, winner of the prestigious Best Outboard Boat award at the 26th annual Antique and Classic Boat Society Chesapeake Bay Chapter Antique and Classic Boat Festival. originally assembled by Norman W. Bailey of Newmarket N.J. has been these last two years: completely and painstakingly renovated with expert craftsmanship and the finest materials and hardware available. It had been abandoned in a neighbor's backyard on the Potomac for a few years, and before it was too late I intervened. The boat was given to me for lack of a better alternative and I started the lengthy process, stripping the hull bare, replacing damaged pieces, and restructuring separated marine plywood deck with Sepele Mahogany. All original wood sealed with CPES epoxy (inside and out) and joints secured with West Systems. Sikaflex adhesive sealant caulk on deck to match wood color. 3 coats of Pettit - Bikini Blue on hull and 7 coats of Z-Spar on deck. Matching exterior grade latex paint on hull interior to help wood breath and dampness evaporate. Flush cleats and electrical switching by Attwood and Cole Hersee Co.-U.S.A. respectively, signal horn by Roca-Sweden, fairleads and stern light by Osculati-Italy, and steering cable pulleys by Ronstan-Australia. All bronze and stainless screws! The boat is extremely stable and is built comfortably to the pilot and passenger. The 1957 Mercury Mark 55E was completely rebuilt by a professional mechanic and comes with a guarantee. The boat includes original Mastercraft trailer, electric ignition, horn, both bow and stern lights as well as a fire extinguisher and clear title. It is a sweet little boat and one of a kind... But I need to make room for, and finance yet bigger and better projects!

| Shes a classic midcentury beauty with great lines, sleek design and a beefy V-8 Corvette motor.
This twenty-three and half foot 1959 Chris Craft Cruisers (Cavalier) life has been spent on the cold water lakes of central Montana. Arrived in Butte, Montana by rail car in 1959, she spent her first 30 or so years slipped at the Gates of the Mountains marina and voyaged on Holter Lake.
As time passed, like any wooden (mahogany) boat, she was in need of some updating. In the 1980s she was entirely restored; engine, hull done with West Marine epoxy resin system, floor boards throughout, custom rope work and cushions, an expanded Bimini over the salon including custom zip off windows - screens, teak swim platform and a canvas slip cover.
After another 10 years or so of summer sun on the water and outside storage during harsh winter weather, she had another makeover in 2006. All the wood was stripped, sanded, and beautifully varnished; including repairs to the hull for minor wood rot. The hulls exterior was sealed and resurfaced with the West Marine epoxy resin system and repainted including the boot strip. All bright work was removed, polished, and reattached. The trailer was also updated (sanded, painted, and new bunks).
Mechanically, the inboard Corvette V-8 (283) engine was and is still quite sound. However, a new impeller (water pump equivalent) and two marine batteries are needed.
Due to a death in our family, our only choice is to let her go. She is currently in dry dock in a covered storage facility. The facility owner is selling the building, so she needs moved before Labor Day. Parting with her is truly a sacrifice. We had a long love affair with her, but now its time that someone else be able to love her too.
Wed be delighted to see her on the water again and for someone to enjoy her as much as we did!

I recently had this ad up, and have fixed some of the issues with the boat. Its now awesome, and ready for anyone to go anywhere any time. I am selling this to get a smaller boat that I can get out on smaller lakes. Lake Minnetonka is just too far from my house. The boat is very clean. It only has around 400 hours on it. The gel coat is shiny. there are some scuffs on the underside. The boat runs and drives perfectly. Top speed with current prop is 53mph. It sounds fantastic, and starts great every time. The interior is in excellent all original condition. If you are looking for an xk22, or a cool rare fiberglass boat, this is the one.
