| This yacht runs great! Shes very roomy and lots of fun. The bow is flat and very roomy with seat step for those who like to ride up front. The v-berth has drawer storage and twin bunks. The adjoining head is private and roomy with a full shower and vanity. The galley layout is comfortable for two to cook in. It features a corner sink for extra counter space and a full size fridge and freezer. Opposite the galley and down is a horseshoe style dinette with seating for six and converts to sleep two. There is lots of room on the aft deck for table and chairs, or crab pots, fishing gear, etc. The room aft salon is comfortable and inviting. We put a futon in there and its got plenty of space still. The extra-wide beam means you dont have to run into one another when crossing paths.
We have taken this yacht out on several fishing and sea camping trips and she has always been enjoyable and reliable. the Maxxis is a family favorite but she is one of many. We really need to find a new home. Located in Seattle Washington. |

Interior Layout
The bright and airy salon features a comfortable sofa to port and a recessed bar with bottle storage, while an armchair, end table, and the yacht's electrical panel are to starboard. Custom two-way Roman blinds adorn the large salon windows, while new carpeting and beautifully-finished overhead paneling give the salon an updated look. A flat screen television rests on the salon's bulkhead to port, and is easily viewed from either the sofa or the armchair.
Moving forward and down a few steps is the fully-equipped galley to starboard, which features plenty of storage and all the conveniences of home. To port is a large booth-style dinette (convertible to a double berth) as well as space for an entertainment system. Further forward is the guest head with separate stall shower, which can be closed off to make a private head for the guest stateroom. The guest stateroom is located in the bow of the yacht and features a v-berth, plenty of storage, and lots of natural light and ventilation.
Moving aft of the salon and down a few steps is the large and very private master stateroom. The full-beam master is filled with light and natural ventilation from large windows on all three sides, and features a queen-size berth, plenty of storage, accent lighting above the windows, and access to the private master head with separate stall shower and large, well-lit vanity.. | "LOONACY", our 1988 Viking 44 Motor Yacht is and has always been one of the most popular mid-sized motor yachts ever built. With a production run between 1982 and 1990, many of these yachts were built and they remain very popular today given their excellent performance, sea keeping abilities and fabulous layouts. Many improvements were made to the 44 over that of her predecessor the 43...more beam, lighter interiors, improved hull design, more fuel and water, etc. Most 43's were gas powered and all 44's are diesel powered. Designed for fast and comfortable cruising, the Viking 44 MY evolved over the years into a low profile boat with double hard-tops, more aggressive engine air intakes, reconfigured deckhouse and bridge layouts.
"LOONACY" is a double hard-top boat with all the bells and whistles. She now features updated major electronics such as the Raymarine E120 series Chart Plotter and HD Radar, a barrier coated bottom (no issues previously), numerous engine maintenance items (all documentation available and a port engine that has undergone a total rebuild (all documentation available). When the current owner bought the boat, a complete engine survey was performed with very positive results. Yearly engine maintenance items have all been performed.
ACCOMMODATIONS AND LAYOUT:
Stepping down into the salon, ones eye is drawn forward because of the open layout of the dinette and galley...providing the illusion that the boat is much larger than one might think. This has always been a hallmark of this boat. The salon area is resplendent in warm, rich teak woodwork. Large windows (opening w - screens) allow plenty of natural lighting in for a nice, open and airy feeling. Portside is a L-shaped sofa that converts to a queen sized double berth. There is a coffee table center in front of the sofa. Opposite to starb'd is a very elegant wet bar with storage areas. To port is the entertainment center with newer AV equipment...5 channel surround sound AV Amplifier, Yamaha sub-woofer, CD - DVD 5 disc player, TV and a back-up Standard VHF radio. Moving forward towards the dinette, one will find additional drawers and doors providing excellent storage. The dinette is HUGE and provides seating for six and dinner for four. The dinette also converts to a double berth to sleep two in comfort. Plenty of storage areas both under and over the dinette provide additional storage areas. There is bottle storage beneath a hinged door area to port. The Viking galley is sizable and features raised panel doors and a beautiful teak parquet floor. A full size 120V refrigerator w - freezer is hidden behind teak paneled doors. Counter space is excellent and storage areas are abundant. There is an ice maker in the freezer as well. A three burner Princess electric stove top, microwave - convection oven, deep galley sink w - Instant Hot Water system, central vac, apartment size washer and dryer are located next to the refrigerator.
THE FORWARD STATEROOM:
The forward stateroom features the offset double bed with drawers and lockers underneath. To starb'd are lockers and a good sized cedar lined hanging locker. There is also anchor locker access thru two opening doors. The guest head is to portside and features an electric head, vanity and stall shower. There is storage under the vanity. The head area has two doors for access as a day head as well as private access from the forward stateroom.
THE MASTER STATEROOM:
The master stateroom is aft and features a center line queen bed with easy access to both sides. Storage areas are massive on both sides of the bed. There is plenty of Bureau space and shelves. Sleeps six people in two private staterooms, plus an additional two on the sleeper sofa in the main salon. The master stateroom has a new custom queen size centerline berth. There are numerous storage lockers and drawers as well as a large hanging closet. There is a private head with sink, vanity and a large shower stall for the master suite. The guest stateroom is aft, on the port side and has a set of over and under berths, with a hanging locker. There is an access door to the head in the companionway which also has a separate shower stall as well as a sink with vanity and mirror. The main salon has a large L-shaped sofa on the port side with a pull out double berth, an end table with lamp. Across from the sofa the built-in and fully equipped entertainment center. The galley is on the port side of the vessel, forward of the salon and down one step with the preferred dinette on the same level to starboard with facing upholstered bench seating. The sole of both the galley and dinette is covered with wood parguet. The complete interior of the boat has honey hued teak joinery throughout that is in excellent condition.
