The boat was manufactured in Merrit Island, FL, then transported to San Diego, CA for the original owner. At some point the boat was transported by truck from San Diego to the SF Bay delta area. The boat was previously docked in Pittsburg, CA.
I purchased the boat in December 2001 in Oakland, CA and moved it down the coast to Ventura, CA, where I have lived on it ever since. I estimate that I am the third owner.
The engines currently have about 800 hours each. When I bought it they had just under 300 hours each, but I take her out to sea a few times a year. I have taken very good care of the boat and the engines and perform regular maintenance.
She was last hauled out in May 2012 and had the bottom painted, shaft logs repacked, new zincs, and other necessary maintenance.
A survey will be necessary to get insurance for the boat, which is required by CA law. The buyer may want to have the boat hauled out as part of the survey but all bottom maintenance is current.
The boat is a documented vessel with the U.S. Coast Guard, it is not registered with the state of CA. One of The benefits of documentation is that you don't have to pay an annual registration fee to the state. There is a fee for transferring the documentation to a new owner, which costs $500. They will perform a title search which assures you that there are no outstanding liens against the boat, ensuring you a clean title.
I will teach the new owner how to operate the boat, along with all of her systems, and assist them to move her anywhere along the southern California coast after the sale is complete.
