Doug Smith, the Founder of Baja, purchased Checkmate Powerboats several years ago.
The 26 Checkmate Convincor is the ultimate extension on the Baja Outlaws. And best of all it is still a hand built, hand layed hull.
As a former Baja Dealer, I had done business with Doug Smith for years, and when I wanted a new Sport Boat, I called Doug...now at Checkmate.
Doug agreed to do this color scheme, which is entirely in the gelcoat...even the Checkmate Logo Horse Head is in the Gel...there is no paint on this one of a kind Checkmate. We then had a Custom Engine Cover made, to complete the Cigarette theme.
I also spent the money to have a custom aluminum trailer fitted to the boat. A new trailer like this one is about $6,000 to $7,000. It had LED lighting, alloy wheels, a spare, and disc brakes on the front axle. I can personally tell you it pulls straight as an arrow at 80 MPH.
The Checkmate with the Custom Gelcoat and color scheme, along with the Custom Interior work, has a list price of $119,000. (the base price of a 2013 Checkmate Convincor with a standard engine is $88,015 sitting in Ohio)

Special Notice. This boat is new and untitled. If you live in Alabama, we have to collect sales tax. The warranty went into effect in late November. The 3.1 hours on the boat were put on during dealer prep. The boat shows as new, with the exception of several very small rubs on the rub rail, and one thumb nail size stress mark - scratch just above the rub rail in the port side rear corner. A true perfectionist would not worry about these small blemishes. (As a large boat dealer for many years I can tell you that all boats have small blemishes.)
