"Messin Around" is a low hour (698) boat, powered by twin 454 Crusaders which provide a cruising speed around 18 mph and will top out around 25 mph. The Carver 3607 features a dual purpose hull that was developed in response to the fuel crunch of the late '70's that allows the boat at slow speeds to behave like a semi-displacement hull producing fabulous fuel economy while also allowing the boat to get up on plane and cruise comfortably in the high teens. This boat has ALWAYS been in FRESHWATER. Typical of our fastidious owner, the bottom has been stripped and barrier coated even though there were no issues. Four blade Nibral props were an upgrade over the standard three blades...which should provide smoother acceleration and a vibration free ride.
"Messin Around" is a two stateroom, two head boat. Step down into the spacious salon and prepare to be amazed. Large, opening windows highlight this area flooding the salon and galley areas with plenty of natural lighting. New carpeting, new sofa, new custom curtains...everything! All soft goods were new in '08. Newer three zone air conditioning and heat from Marine Air Systems was upgraded in appx. '06. This boat features a complete lower helm with electronics so that she can be run in comfort during inclement weather. The solid teak interior woodwork provides both warmth and a rich appearance that requires very little upkeep. There are three new flat screen TV's with DVD players, one in the salon, one in the master stateroom and one located in the forward stateroom. The galley features a beautiful teak parquet floor, large dinette that seats four (uphostered with beautiful new textured fabric), full size Norcold refrigerator with freezer, Princess three burner stove top w - oven, double stainless sinks, and enough storage areas to allow one to cruise or live aboard for a very long time. In fact, with the cost of waterfront property, this boat would make the most sense for anyone wanting a inexpensive waterfront condo...with the bonus of being able to relocate anytime.
The day head is forward of the galley and has dual entrances to allow for use from the forward stateroom as well. The forward stateroom features a large V-berth, updated Marine Air Systems (with its own control...unlike most 3607's), opening portlights w - screens, overhead hatch w - screen, Sylvania flatscreen TV - DVD, and a huge amount of storage areas. This area is also resplendent in beautiful teak woodwork.
The master stateroom is aft and features a centerline queen size pedestal bed, flanked by dual bureau's which house drawers and cabinet doors. A fold out vanity seat and a full size vanity with make up mirror are abaft the portside head. The head features a tub shower (unusual on a 36' boat), large sink and vanity, large mirror and a nice amount of storage make this head one that a person will actually use. There is an amazing amount of doors and drawers providing excellent storage for extended cruising or living aboard.
The aft deck features new aft deck carpeting, newer black canvas weather boards, and plenty of space for deck chairs and lounges. Two steps up to the bridge finds many different seating options, allowing for a large crowd on a nice sunny day. The bridge is protected by newer ('07) black bimini top and complete eisenglass enclosure. The bridge carpeting and seat vinyls are newer as well (07). The forward riding seating is hinged to access great storage and makes up into a sun lounge as well. A complete compliment of electronics provide most of the information the skipper would want to go cruising.
There is a fiberglass swim platform w - boarding ladder, Weaver Snap-Davits w - standoffs and a outboard motor bracket. The bow pulpit features a roller and bit along with newer anchor rode. Dual helm with rudder indicator, spotlight, neutral shift indicators, short wave raidio, depth sounder etc. Twin Crusader engines with 480 hours. 7.5 Kohler four cylinder genorator with 470 hours. Three heatair conditioners, one each for aft cabin, main salondinette and kitchen and forward berth area. Aft cabin has queen size bed, seperate head with showertub. Nice makeup area and lots of storage space. Main salon has sleeper sofa and two occasional chairs. The stereo system provides music throughout the boat with seperate volume controlls from the main salon, aft cabin, forward cabin and flybridge. From the main salon you step down to the dinette - kitchen. The dinnette table makes into a berth. the kitchen is equiped with a refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster oven, three burner stove, sink and ice maker. Forward of the kitchen is anouther head with shower and sinkvanity on the oposite side. The head area is seperated from the kitchen with a sliding "pocket" door and forward from the head the front berth is seperated by a split door arrangement. The forward berth will sleep two.
