This is a double cabin motor yacht with flybridge, radar arch, and a FRP hard top over the raised aft deck. From the molded FRP swim platform, FRP molded steps on the port lead up to the raised aft deck which has surround FRP bulwarks with an aft bench seat, wet bar counter and sink to starboard of the flybridge access steps, and full canvas and clear plastic, zippered enclosure.
On port is the sliding companionway door which leads down 5 steps to the main salon which has the electrical cabinet with entertainment center and an L-shaped settee with a pedestal table on the port, and an L-shaped sofa with an end table with granite counter top, forward. This 2005 Chaparral 256 SSi is everything a runabout should bespacious, generously equipped and comfortably appointed. Everything about the open-bow 26-footer was designed to make life easy for passengers. From a sun pad walk-through on the tiered swim platform, to a molded galley console with Corian countertops in the cockpit.
The rear U-shape bench in the aft section of the cockpit offered plenty of cushy seating, without eating up valuable sole space. To keep the sole from getting cluttered with gear passengers invariably haul on board, Chaparral supplied copious stowage space under the bench, as well as in an in-sole locker and in a giant compartment in the driver's console.
Solidly constructed with a quad-radial lamination process for material overlap where necessary, the 256 SSi had clean mold work and bright two-tone gelcoat. For added strength, the boat's hullsides were filled with closed-cell foam.
