Trojan's 48 Meridian was designed by Blaine Seely as a comfortable, all weather long range cruiser. The semi-displacement hull (the same hull Whittaker Corporation, Trojan's parent company at the time, built as a commercial fishing trawler) has a sharp entry, considerable bow flare, and hard chines aft. Combined with a raised pilothouse, portuguese bridge, and covered aft cockpit she is a comfortable boat offshore or dockside.
A total of 13 48' Meridians were built. "Blackdog" is hull #11 in the series.
