| 1996 Mirage 257 Trovare $18,500
We have a beautiful 26 ft Mirage for sale. According to the previous owners best knowledge, the boat has only been used in Wisconsin freshwater its whole life. My father-in-law bought this boat in 2014. He is VERY meticulous, so the boat was in great shape when he bought it, and he has continued to make it even better. He has collected boats and cars for 50 years, so it has been very well maintained. Kept in a heated garage on a matching bunk trailer featuring all new surge brakes, including backing plates and bearings. Trailer also has 5 brand new tires.
The interior of the boat is in exceptional shape and has plenty of room for the family or entertaining others. It has a nice roomy cuddy with a sink (with freshwater tank) and removeable porta potty that stows in its own specially designed compartment. The back wrap around bench (towards the bow, facing the cockpit) also has filler cushions to make it into a large bed. The captains chairs swivel and can turn towards the back making it very nice for conversation while moored. It also comes with full camper canvas that stows nicely under the engine compartment so it can be easily set up at first sign of a raindrop. The boat has tons of storage (a large cooler fits under the wrap around portion of rear seat) and the glove box also has a drain, so can be utilized as a cooler. The cockpit carpet is removeable and is really the only thing on the boat that is showing a little age.
The boat was repowered in 2009 by Mel Riggs Marine in Eldorado, WI (Oshkosh area) with a Mercury Racing HP500. Unfortunately, there is no hour meter, but boating season in WI isnt very long and the motor runs flawless so I would guess it has fairly low hours.
The drive was replaced with a new Bravo One from Mercury in 2013, and is swinging a 24pitch 4 blade prop. The drive has been serviced with Merc fluids every year, and is equipped with a drive shower to keep operating temps low.
The hull was gone over last year and every blemish (small nicks and minor keelwear like I said, he is meticulous and wanted it to look perfect) in gel coat was professionally repaired so it shows like new.
The boat is equipped with:
-Two new batteries and a new onboard charger
-New impeller and bilge pump
-Trim tabs that make it very easy to adjust for optimal ride if water kicks up a bit
-Full cockpit cover that covers over windshield
-Through hull exhaust
-Built in marine radio with adjustable antenna
update: this boat was sold to a customer in Maryland. He took delivery of the boat and did some nice upgrades including having the boat professionally ceramic coated. Rebuilding carb with updated accelerator pump. And replaced all switches on the dash. Unfortunately he has sustained a debilitating back injury which has forced him to make the decision to sell the boat. so he has asked me to sell the boat for him.
