| Welcome aboard "Starlight Express"a original owner, freshwater yacht. She is a highly customized Viking 57 Motor Yacht that has had a cockpit added to extend her length to 66', but her overall length including the swim platform is 72' 6". In addition to her well engineered and professionally installed cockpit, the owner removed the old school GM 8V-92(735hp) TA's and replaced them with state of the art MAN V-12 D2842LE406's rated at 1,200 hp each. When the cockpit was constructed additional tankage was added to extend the tankage on board from 750 to 1,300 gals. So, we now have a boat that will cruise effortlessly at 20 knots (instead of 15) and a boat with some real range. The owner spent 675K on the engines and new drive line and an additional 180K on the cockpit design, construction and installation. This is an opportunity to get a mechanically superior yacht with an amazing portfolio of equipment upgrades at a remarkably low price.
This yacht was barrier coated in the fall of '08-winter of '09...8 coats of Interlux InterProtect were applied and of course there are records for same. Her bottom is gorgeous. Accommodations and layout are a standard (if you could ever consider the Viking 57 a standard anything) 4 stateroom layout with 3 heads. The master is aft and is accessed from a private staircase that also provides access to the laundry area and walk-in engine room. The other three staterooms are forward and accesed from a staircase forward of the pilothouse. Two guest staterooms are forward, port and starb'd and there is a VIP stateroom portside that features a walk-around double bed with ensuite head. These staterooms are quite roomy and feature plenty of storage areas for extended cruising. On the main deck is the HUGE salon with a very large wrap around sofa, swivel chair, large LCD TV, abundant storage areas and a beautiful wet bar that is adjacent to the sliding doors out to the covered aft deck area. The galley is abaft the pilothouse and features full size house hold type appliances and very nice storage areas. There is also a dinette that will seat four. The pilothouse is forward for visibility, and sightlines both for cruising and handling the boat around the dock are excellent. Electronics at both the pilothouse and bridge have been updated over the years to remain current provide everything necessary to cruise in safety and comfort. Port and starb'd pilothouse doors make going forward easy to aid in docking or anchoring chores. Regarding docking, the boat features a HYDRAULIC bow thruster and the steering has been upgraded to power steering...enabling finger tip control at any speed...truely remarkable. The foredeck equipment is equally robust and will provide excellent holding in almost any conditions. The bridge is accessed from indoors for safety and will astound those who haven't been up on the 57's. Seating is abundant and so is storage. A complete wet bar with refrigeration and storage makes going down below unneccessary. A large dinette up on the bridge makes "al fresco" dining a great evening event. The boat deck is large and spacious and features a Marquipt hydraulic low profile davit system. Designed by James Krogen, custom built in Miami, this 63 footer is ready to take you anywhere you choose to go. The clipper bow, displacement hull, portuguese bridge, stabilizers, big fly bridge and roomy interior all add to up to a versatile boat that will shy away from nothing.
The big open bow, with windlass, leads to covered, wide side decks through the portuguese bridge. There is plenty of room for line and fender handling. The aft deck is protected by wing doors and solid weather screen from handrail to toe rail. Double doors lead to the salon and a ladder to the big flybridge.
The fly bridge is set up for entertaining, relaxing and serious navigation. There are three adjustable seats at the fully equipped helm. The visibility is fantastic. There is plenty of storage under the bridge. A bimini top protects the helm. Twin lounges with tables are port and starboard. Seating is ample for eight to ten adults. There is plenty of deck space for sunning or adding more seating. An inflatable dinghy, with outboard, is stored over the aft deck.
The pilothouse is entered from port or starboard. A nicely laid out helm with centerline wheel will make for pleasant navigation in all weather. There is plenty of storage for essential gear and a comfortable couch - captains berth. The electronics are extensive and include:

A stairway leads forward to a double stateroom with en suite head. Rich woodwork makes for a classical feel. There is a storage room and engine compartment access from this level.
Twin Cat diesels with about 4000 hours ,Onan 4.0kW generator and ships systems appear in good working order.
Back on the main deck, a hall leads aft with the galley being the first stop. Fully equipped and plenty of storage make this a very functional space. Twin refrigerator freezers, stove, oven, microwave, twin sinks, dishwasher. Big windows make it seem open and airy. This may work as a charter boat galley, and easily as a long range cruiser or liveaboard.
Moving aft to the salon. Windows on three bulkheads and double doors open to the aft deck. Nice wood paneling and deck. There is a large couch to port and rattan chairs with table to starboard. A table with chairs is forward to port, and a stairway to the berthing area is midship. Not flashy, but classic, timeless comfort and beauty.
The curved stairway is protected by a nicely designed bannister.
Three staterooms are found on this level as well as a couple of full heads. The master is aft and has a centerline berth. There is lots of storage, plenty of light and ventilation.
The other two staterooms are doubles and are opposite on the centerline hall.
Overall this is a pretty nice boat. Plenty of style, great design, well constructed and loads of possibilities.
