Superstructure is constructed of molded fiberglass with a painted finish. The bulkheads and paneling are teak and vinyl covered plywood. The boat is quipped with a Teak anchor pulpit and the boat rails are stainless steel, with handrails along the cabin. Trojan's 48 Meridian was designed by Blaine Seely as a comfortable, all weather long range cruiser. The semi-displacement hull (the same hull Whittaker Corporation, Trojan's parent company at the time, built as a commercial fishing trawler) has a sharp entry, considerable bow flare, and hard chines aft. Combined with a raised pilothouse, portuguese bridge, and covered aft cockpit she is a comfortable boat offshore or dockside.
