The Magnum 51 is a narrow beam, deep-vee, very heavy hull, generally equipped with twin Caterpillar or MTU diesels of between 1600 and 1925 HP each coupled to Arneson surface drives. The top speed can reach up to 74 MPH. Very impressive is her unbelievable seaworthiness in all weather conditions. She slices through the waves and can safely and comfortably make long crossings in rough seas, whilst large yachts remain in port.

"SOUTHERN JEWEL" is a exceptionally well equipped and meticulously maintained vessel. She features all right options and then some. Located in Michigan until the fall of 2005, she has only spent 5 years in Naples. Prior to her delivery to Naples, her bottom was stripped (dry to start with) and barrier coated with eight (yes,8) coats of Interlux InterProtect, followed by two coats of Interlux bottom paint. At the same time, the transom was epoxied as well and painted with Petit Vivid white to match the transom area. All hydraulic line holes for the TNT lift were sealed with epoxy. The boat was just hauled this September ('10) and two coats of Petit Ultima SR-60 were applied. The bottom is cleaned monthly by divers. The boat is professionally maintained to the highest standards.
