This particular vessel is the 35 model of the Chris Craft Double cabin sedan series, built by Chris Craft Corporation in Pompano, Florida. | The 350 Catalina is one of the most popular Chris Crafts ever made. Built on a solid-fiberglass, low deadrise hull with a wide beam, the 350 has an enormous interior for her size as well as an entertainment-friendly helm - aft deck platform. This is a warm, very roomy and very comfortable boat, with full standing headroom everywhere (6'4"). This is a true live-aboard boat, with an interior roomy enough that long periods aboard even in bad weather are easy and pleasant. She'll sleep six comfortably. They don't make boats like this any more, with solid heavy construction, good materials, designed and made with care and attention to detail. This boat has spent her entire life on the Great lakes. The present owner has maintained her well and she shows as a much newer boat.
Her interior accommodations include a spacious main cabin with AC and huge windows. There is a convertible couch and rattan chair. built-in shelves and cabinets, and a table. Windows are large and open, providing plenty of light and fresh air. The salon has an Island feel.
The full galley has large counter space, a stainless steel sink, a Princess 3-burner electric stove and oven, a microwave. a refrigerator with freezer, a separate freezer in addition, and cabinets above and below. There is also an ice maker and coffee maker. There is a 5 gallon hot water heater and a pressure tank to maintain even water pressure. There are two roomy staterooms each with two built-in berths, plus storage under the beds, a full-size closet, and a cabinet. The head has cabinet storage and plenty of counter space, a stall shower enclosure, enamel sink and marine toilet. The engine room is large, and full access to both engines is available by taking up two floor panels.
Topside, the helm is level with the aft deck, so the helmsman isn't separated from the passengers. She is pretty well equipped for cruising with GPS - Plotter, Compass, VHF, depth sounder, and AM - FM - CD stereo with remote on helm.
In addition to the captain's and mate's chairs, there is ample room for two or three other chairs and a cooler to keep drinks handy. The cockpit is carpeted. The windshield opens from the top, so they can usually remain somewhat open for fresh air even in the rain. The top comes down to make it a good sized sport boat atmosphere. Full canvas protects the deck. She has full walk around decks and a large foredeck with built-in seating, and a large teak swim platform with ladder.
She will cruise at 12-15 knots with a top speed in the upper teens to low 20's. She is powered by chevy V-8 350s. Port side has less than 10 hours on new motor and starboard has new intake manifold. Everything was done right with no shortcuts. The boat is very comfortable under way, handling reasonable weather well and only occasionally landing spray on the deck.
Trim tabs, windshield wipers, and horn are also on the helm. There are spare props. Shafts and struts were replaced in 03, waste tank in 02, electronic ignitions in 03. Upgrades have all been done professionally and properly. There is an Kohler generator that is not operating and the price reflects it. Four batteries with switches, emergency start system and dual shore cords.
These Chris Crafts were built with longevity as the result if not the goal at the time. They are very user friendly with easy line handling set-up for the crew. | Due to changing circumstances in my life I am forced to abandon my live aboard project. I had originally intended to bring this ship back to her original glory using the original plans that I will be obtaining from the Mariner's Museum. Where to start... She has twin 318 engines though I believe the port side is in need of a rebuild. The hull is solid as a rock though she's been out of the water for over a year. I have tested, poked, prodded, and repeated the process to attempt to find any rot and as of yet, I have failed to find anything. A new shaft has been installed on the port side due to the previous owner snapping it. The rudders work beautifully but the entire boat needs rewired. Both engines have new starter motors and wiring. One engine will need a carb the other engine will need the carb for it troubleshot. Previous owner bought automotive carbs for the engines and I have removed them both and attempted to sell to get replacements. I have 1 1409 Edelbrock marine carb to go with her and the repair manual for the 318 engines. The septic system is fairly new and likely needs moved and reinstalled a bit better than where the previous guy put it. There is an AC system installed though again it may need relocated or at least need the ducting run properly. The previous owner didn't do such a great job. She has a small water heater and a decent fresh tank that should be find with a good flushing. The hull will need the sanding finished below the waterline and need repainted and will also need recaulked. Otherwise there's not much else to do to the hull. Comes with a bimini top and has a flybridge. All life preservers are included as well. I think I've covered about everything I can think of. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Again I hate to have to get rid of her as she'll be a gorgeous vessel once finished and I hate to have to sell her but I have no choice. Thanks for looking.. Located in Norfolk Virginia. |

Engines and machinery spaces are accessed thru a large stainless framed hatch in the salon floor.
Step down three steps and find the large galley to portside and the side stateroom to starb'd. There is electric, fan driven heat located in the companionway. It is centrally located and should distribute heat easily throughout the boat. The gorgeous galley features plenty of counter spaces (teal), a Kenyon 2 burner electric stovetop, Integrated Tappan Microwave, full size Norcold refrigerator with freezer, waste bin flush mounted in countertop with storage underneath, dedicated pull out dish and cup drawers, double sinks and a Black & Decker toaster. Storage is abundant with four drawers, two large, hinged cabinets and three large doors that access huge storage areas. To starb'd and up the stairs is an additional storage area. The forward cabin (master) offers a queen pedestal bed that extends to fit taller folks and copious amounts of storage. The queen bed is on the centerline with speakers and lights on the forward bulkhead. There is also access to the anchor locker, here. There are storage areas both port and starb'd above the bed. There is a starb'd side vanity w - mirrored storage cabinets and four drawers. To port is a huge, hanging locker. There is storage under the bed as well. Plenty of reading and bullet lights throughout.
The cockpit features built-in fish boxes, transom door, a custom 10 drawer tackle center built into the transom, boarding steps from side decks (P&S), cockpit cooler. The flybridge offers two upholstered helm chairs, forward bench seat, stainless steel sport arch, complete enclosure and bimini top, helm with complete instrumentation, fiberglass bridge overhang provides some shade to cockpit.
